We Don't Need a Groundhog to Tell us Winter is Here for Awhile

Dinner
Icecapades, bird-style

I thought I knew what this seagull had found for dinner. What's your guess?

Storm front

After watching the snow and wind come down all day, it was time to head home and ride out today's storm amid comfortable surroundings. Standing in the doorway I took some photos of the bay and the birds who are are now sitting on the water instead of floating on it. Probably wondering why they didn't continue on down to Canada last October. Too late now. Some seagulls flew right in front of me and I got a few snapshots of them. Later, I was amazed at what I saw in this one's beak. Tell me what you see.
Dinner tonight was pork tenderloin with an orange-maple mustard glaze, cumin-lime basmati rice and zucchini/ red pepper/tomato sauté.

It looks like a starfish to me. And dinner looks wonderful to me!

I think you're right, I should not try to guess that sort of thing after a 14 hour day LOL

Whew! For a minute I thought you were serving up Punxsatawney Phil! My guess was also a starfish on Bird's dinner. The pictures are beautiful, though. Eli and I saw a hawk grab a grackle a couple of weeks ago. It was very sad for the grackle, but the hawk was ecstatic.

Yes, I too thought it was an eagle's claw at first, till I saw that the yellow was the gull's beak, then I saw it as a starfish.

Just so it wasn't one of your cats or piece of! Dinner looks yummy. Are you going to cook at least one dinner at the shore, Rich?

I think we are all agreeing that it looks like a starfish. But CD, we really thought it looked like an eagle's claw at first, too! Poor starfish, though. :(

Mom, I am sure we can talk Rich into cooking at least once when we are at the shore!
