Take your pick; you, too, could be stylin' during Rainy Season in Unalaska. We are enjoying high winds and lots and lots of rain this week. My car is still dead in front of the house and no one has had any desire to come and get it or take a look at it. Not that I blame them. I have been bumming rides, mostly from Rich, but also from my coworkers, which is getting old and just a bit annoying. Rich has a low tire that he has to keep refilling. His car didn't want to start earlier tonight so we are crossing our fingers that we won't both be stranded soon.
We forced ourselves out into the storm and back to the gym, which hasn't been graced by our presence in a good little while. I could swear the elliptical machine started laughing when I climbed on board. Luckily, my ipod was going full blast so I could drown out the sound.

Glad you are enjoying the weather. It's freezing here again, and Rando says he is riding the motorcycle to work today. :)
He's crazy!
I like the bees!!
I found your blog from Judi. We belong to an on-line quilt group. I love your photos of the area. Your photos, combined with Judi's stories about the area make Unalaska sound like a wonderful place to live.
I vote for the bees. You will brighten up anywhere you go with those boots on.
I, too, am a friend of Judi's. I vote for the bees...only because I love you fireweed honey!Joanne in WY
Looks like the bees are running ahead, Sarah, Sweet P and Joanne--thanks for your votes!
Judi is the best! I love working with her every day. I am not talented in the quilting department, so have to admire all of you quilters.
Joanne, my maiden name is Rice and I have a brother in Jackson, WY!
Another Judi-quilt buddy here. I'm with Paula and Joanne...definitely the bees!
bees are to cute
Bees, but if the whales were on yellow I'd say whales...
JoAnne
Wow, Jane- look at all these comments and all of your new friends! I kinda like the whales, but you know I'm always the odd girl out. It's getting cold here, too- I can't believe it. Coming home from rehearsal tonight, the wind was absolutely howling, and the temp. was dropping fast. By the time I got home it was under 50! I know that's probably nothing for y'all, but this is San Antonio, and we don't do cold...:)
Yes, thanks to all my voters and commenters and new friends! I think I am up to 22 votes so no telling who the other people are. Reveal yourselves! LOL
I would have a hard time choosing, myself. I like them both.
I don't want to hear about your "cold" weather in San Antonio. That's a nice summer day here. :)
I am voting for the bees also.
I LOVE the bees! Always have, I guess. My grandfather was a beekeeper!
Okay, it's clear the bees are winning, but I can't read the numbers beside the others. Who is ahead, whales, or I wouldn't be caught dead in either? LOL
Yeah, I think the colors are all wrong for showing up on my blog. I don't want to change my background, though. :) The tally right now is:
Bees-16
Whales-7
One of each-6
Wouldn't be caught dead-3
I did vote but it didn't take. I like the whales best as it is so DH. Funny hearing from someone from Jackson. So, I'm with Kath on the voting. Now, you know how to get lots of responses!
Wonder why it didn't take. Try again!
Definitely bees - of course lately both the whales and bees would be quickly covered in mud and you wouldn't be able to tell them apart . . . .
Great job on the photo project - have you considered calendars for family using Rich's photos? There are lots of good sites - the one I'm using this year lets me put all the birthdays and anniversaries on the calendar as well.
LOL You are right that it wouldn't matter after being outside for awhile! I'd rather have snow than all that wind and rain.
Yes, we have talked about calendars; in fact, my daughters and my friend Susan sent us calendars commemorating their trips out here to see us. I love having those memories of their time on the island. Which site are you using?
Looks like the bees will be the runaway winners. They were the ones I bought first, and Rich was appalled that I would actually wear them out in public. :0
Dig those bees...
I'm using lulu.com - you might want to check it out, it is very easy to set up a storefront and sell your creation. I learned about it when a friend self-published a book there.
I like your style, it takes a certain type to successfully pull off the "bees". I'll be watching for them about town!
Thanks, Steve, I will check the site out! I actually don't wear those boots all that often because they are not very warm. More style than substance. LOL We will be at Midnight Madness if you want to stop by and say hi.
