Copenhagen

We said goodbye to our friend Palle who was getting off in Copenhagen to head home.  He had recommended the restaurant of a well-known chef, Ida Davidsen, and kept telling us we had to go there and try the smorrebrod, buttered dark brown bread with a variety of toppings on it.  He said it is usually busy and we might need a reservation, even offering to call and make us a reservation, but we said we were sure we could figure it out.  We got dropped off by the shuttle bus and began our usual wandering around.

I love the look of these buildings

Another city with bikes everywhere!
We found Ida Davidsen's!  There was no line and we didn't need a reservation. They were super friendly and very helpful when I was trying to decide what in the world to get!

Oh, my goodness!  I am so glad we went!  Honestly, the main reason we walked and walked and searched for the place was that Palle had been so excited about sending us there and we didn't want to disappoint him. Otherwise, we might have just stopped somewhere else. But the food was so delicious!  I am now a fan of smorrebrod!
